Importance Of Industrial Training

Importance of Industrial Training

It is a very popular saying by Martin H Fischer that “All the world is a laboratory to the inquiring mind”. But at the same time you cannot wander around to get knowledge and information which will help you in excelling your field. It is very important to find a stable platform where you can testify your skills before entering in this big bad corporate world. In today’s competitive world it has become very much important for learners to execute their learning in specifically modeled training program to testify their skills and caliber. Industrial training is the most important requirement to complete technical education these days. The project training or industrial training plays an important role in today’s professional course curriculum whether it is an MBA, MCA or B-tech degree. Every student doing these courses has to go through this before getting their degree.

Now the question arises that why this training is given so much importance?

Why do companies prefer students who have done training in different organizations before joining them?

The answer is

  1. It gives first hand experience to the prospective employees about the things they will be working on in future.
  2. It is a primary method to broaden trainee’s horizon and to improve his skills and productivity which will be helpful for them in long run.
  3. Training also contributes in the occupational development, upward mobility and confidence building of potential employee.
  4. Now a day most of the companies are providing training where a trainee gets a chance to work on live projects where they can groom themselves and learn the skills to handle the hardships of difficult projects in the future.
  5. Industrial training gives trainees an opportunity to work in a professional atmosphere without actually being a part of it and under the guidance of a supervisor who will try his best to teach you things which he may not want to teach you being your colleague.
  6. You get opportunity to talk to lots of people and gather more information.
  7. It helps in building interpersonal skills.
  8. It give you live exposure to the corporate world and here you can learn from your mistakes which may prove fatal in your future.
  9. You learn professionalism and basic etiquettes on how to present yourself in a professional atmosphere.

These all are few important benefits which prospective employees can have from industrial training. But as it is said that “coin has two sides” same way now with training centers mushrooming everywhere is giving hard time to students to get the quality training. In my past few years of experience I have seen students looking for training institute in which they don’t have to attend the classes and company will gives them projects at the end of the training then students prefer to join call centre and other jobs after joining training in these companies despite of working hard in there training sessions. They prefer to earn money and spend it on themselves rather then gaining knowledge which will help them in future. It is really very sad to see the deteriorating training culture in student life.

At the end I would only say that students should concentrate on this very important phase of their curriculum where they get an opportunity to learn things which they may not learn while working in future.
